   1. I live on Vancouver Island and have had the honour of watching barred owls perching in full daylight…they blend in so well that a person really has to look!

3. A true poet has to observe a lot… eavesdropping and then condense it into a poem, just like an owl

4. Wisdom dropped onto the snow is such a beautiful image, and even more so when its an allusion to a blank page receiving poetic words.
