This kiss has travelled miles

kept safe in a pocket

wrapped in silk

it has journeyed oceans

and rocky trails

burning a hole

through days

impatient to be planted

on my lover’s lips

  1. I love the thought of keeping a kiss safe in a pocket, Carys, ‘burning a hole’, and the long journey the giver has to take to plant it on their lover’s lips. What a beautiful story and the ending is perfect!
